About Dr. Jennifer Almonte
Dr. Jennifer Almonte achieved accreditation as an SRC Surgeon of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology and Robotic Surgery with DHR Women's Hospital in 2022. SRC - A nonprofit, patient safety organization, is the leading administrator of excellence accreditation programs. Accredited surgeons have undergone rigorous, unbiased inspection to ensure they meet nationally and internationally recognized standards of excellence in patient safety and care.
Dr. Jennifer Almonte prides herself on her extensive experience on adolescent female health, high-risk pregnancy, and complicated gynecological issues. Dr. Jennifer Almonte strongly adheres to applying medical practices that have the best evidence for the best outcomes for her patients. She takes a collaborative approach to care, always involving a patient and her family in medical decision-making, as appropriate.
Dr. Jennifer Almonte was appointed by the Texas Secretary of Health and Human Services to the Texas State Women’s Health Advisory Committee in 2015. This committee has been tasked with overseeing women’s health issues and funding in the state of Texas. Her involvement in this committee, among her other activities, has garnered her statewide recognition as a voice for women’s healthcare physicians and Texas women. She was recently featured on the cover of Texas Medicine Magazine, the official publication of the Texas Medical Association.

Originally from El Paso, Dr. Jennifer Almonte is proud to now call the Rio Grande Valley her home. She is married to a physician, who is a Brownsville native, and they have two young sons. Dr. Jennifer Almonte's hobbies include spending time with her family and friends and volunteer work. She is an active member of The Junior League of McAllen.

To better serve her patients, Dr. Jennifer Almonte is bilingual in English and Spanish and treats adolescent and adult patients. She is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
